So a new platform known as Napoleon has been created, and as you can probably tell, a lot of the userbase is quite displeased with spacehey's current moderation- more specifically, the moderator Vasilis. I wanted to give some insight as to why, as this has been an ongoing issue for a while, so here are the ins and outs of the situation.

In late December, I was banned from the platform, and I attempted to plead my case on my (now deleted) tiktok page, and Vasilis responded:

“You were banned for repeatedly directing users to block and report users who you personally did not like. Although you understood it was breaking the rules since your posts were being removed, and were given multiple opportunities to stop, you decided to keep doing it every single day. This is 100% harassment.”

This might seem like a valid point at first, but he both completely leaves out important context and waters things down to make me out to be targeting random users. The users I was directing people towards were (and one of which still is) posting homophobic content. Vasilis recontextualized the incidents as harassment instead of awareness to make it look like I was going after every user i dislike or disagree with. When I told him that he was leaving out the context as to why I was doinf such, he responded with:

"the reality is that rules apply to everyone. What you should have done is: 1. Report anyone who you think are breaking the rules, 2. Block anyone who makes you upset and 3. Go on with your life. That's it!! I should add, do these things PRIVATELY, not tell others to do it too. Just so there is no any misunderstandings."

This was an interesting response, because homophobia (the content those users were being called out for) is against spacehey's rules, as it falls under hate speech, yet only one of the posts containing homophobic content was removed at all, after two weeks of sitting up at the top blogs- and my posts calling attention to the users being homophobic were removed within 24 hours. Vasilis might say the rules apply to everyone, but this makes it clear that the rules only apply when the moderators want them to. His choice in refusing to address his twist of the narrative and instead double down on his stance shows that the way he worded the first comment to reframe the situation was definitely intentional.

And unfortunately, my situation is only one of many. Recently, multiple users have experienced or witnessed some form of bigotry and harassment on the platform, reported it with evidence, and gotten nowhere. Thus, they choose to bring public awareness to the problem- if enough reports are made, then something has to be done about the situation at hand. But instead of a swift removal of the hateful person or content, the users are met with their content being removed, or being outright banned from the platform entirely- and sometimes, the content they were attempting to bring attention to is left up without consequence.

I have a more thorough post about this situation on my neocities page, and David has a post going into detail about other things Vasilis has done. It's also been confirmed that Vasilis is keeping tabs on people who have disagreed with his moderation, so I wouldnt be surprised if he pulls strings to get Napoleon tanked. So, as a precaution, this blog post was created as a backup, which served to be the best choice- the original was on my napoleon account, but is no longer available due to hacking issues on 4/7/2026.

Vasilis, if you're reading this I want you to know that I stopped caring about whether or not my account is granted back to me two months ago. Your lack of care towards issues such as queerphobia, ableism, racism, and CSEM on your platform, and your defense of it under the guise that any person who calls awareness to it is "harassing" the people posting it, is why the platform is becoming the shitole it is now. You cannot claim the rules apply to everyone if you only apply them to people telling others about those who are breaking the rules. If you claim that hate speech and CSEM are against the platform's guidelines, yet remove content from and ban the users who bring awareness to it being posted on your platform, you are only reinforcing that that content is allowed to remain on the platform so long as it's worded carefully enough, and anyone upset by it has to keep quiet or get suspended for speaking out. Stay however pissed you want to be about this, but attacking us wont do anything. Take accountability.
